The Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspected electric transformer vandals, Idris Garba and Saifullahi Alkasim, in Minna.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, September 4, 2025 said the suspects and two other fleeing accomplices were arrested while attempting to vandalize the cables at a transformer spot.
“On 01/9/2025 at about 6am, two suspected electric transformer vandals; Idris Garba 21yrs and Saifullahi Alkasim 28yrs both of Alagbado, Minna were arrested by Police operatives of 'B' Div Minna at a transformer spot within the area during an attempt to vandalize the cables, while two others escaped. The suspects arrested have been transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and prosecution,” the statement read.
